Dear candidates,
 
We are pleased to announce the first interdisciplinary Summer School of the program Future Maore Reefs. It will take place in the French tropical island, Mayotte, located in the Western Indian Ocean between the 24th of September and the 1st of Octobre 2023. The Hotel Sakouli will host the Summer School.
 
The organizing committee comprise anthropologists and reef ecologists from the CUFR (Mayotte) and IRD (Réunion Island).
The school is open to students from Licence (L3 or undergraduate 3rd year) to PhD, both french and english speakers who are studying either anthropology, educational sciences and/or marine (reef) ecology.
The objectives of the school are to teach original approaches and innovative methodologies used in sustainable science to better protect and restore coral reefs (using nature based solutions) while supporting the sustainable economical development of local populations.
 
A total of 20 students will be able to attend this Summer School. The whole expanses except travel ones will be taken in charge by the program Future Maore Reefs, i.e. the 8 nights at Hotel Sakouli, lunches, diners, days of field work and transportation from Mayotte's airport to the hotel. Five travel awards will however be attribued upon application for students coming from countries in development.
